In the last few days, a new app update has been pushed (v1.0.3) featuring big improvements for public wifi handling for PiFi kit users, a shutdown button (a popular request) and some other fixes and optimisations mainly for wireless capabilities.
There are more new features in the works so this is maybe more of a minor update compared to in-development features. Beta access to new features will be available in the next app update
New Features for PiFi Kit
- Improved Wireless Pairing (doesn’t show ‘Unknown networks’, shows 5Ghz bands on networks, bug where it would sometimes show ‘Unsuccessful’ resolved)
- Public WiFi Mode (improved handling of public wifi hotspots - disables AdGuard Home if it prevents captive portal/login screen loading on public networks)
New Features (All Users)
- Dedicated Shut-Down Option (PiFi images already offers some protection from corruption, but if you want the peace of mind of manually shutting down then you’ll find that option in More Settings > Reset/Power)
- AdGuard Home can be now also be disabled as primary DNS resolver
Bug Fixes & Optimisations
- PiFi Kit Issue where wireless pairing would sometimes inaccurately show error pairing has been fixed
- All Users - Issue changing SSID/key with special characters resolved
- Other minor bug fixes / optimisations
