Found it really easy setting up with my pifi kit. Is it possible to have the raspberry pi running pifi installed before my fritz.box router to allow internet filtering before reaching my router and private network? I suspect I’d have to use an usb to ethernet adaptor to be able to receive and send filtered traffic to my router.

I have a PiFi before my router so that it provides whole-network PiFi and mainly use PiFi Kit for travel so it’s possible in theory (although sometimes depending on the internet provider more steps are involved)
Yes, it would make use of a USB-to-ethernet adapter (which can be set to WAN or LAN - by default the internal Pi one is WAN and anything connected via USB is LAN but this can be toggled in Settings > Network Settings in the app)
I’ll have a look to see if I can find anything specific to Fritzbox to see it would need anything other configuration to work before the router
Great, thanks. I think I’d have to change my router to AP mode and connect the usb-to-ethernet output to the router wan port.
I think so, would’ve loved to offer some support for fritzbox specifically - from quick reading online it does seem like it should be possible but because I don’t have one to-hand I wouldn’t want to provide steps then something goes wrong (especially if it’s the primary way you get online)
