Hi I’ve just received my PiFi kit plug it all in to my pi 5 and when I go on to the wireless network to connect nothing comes up
Here’s what worked for me. Stay close to the device for the initial connection. I had 2 phones with me right next to the pi5. Unplug the pi 5, connect the wifi dongle, SD card, ethernet cable, and then power. Give it a few minutes to start. If nothing comes up, remove the dongle while power it’s on. It did a power cycle for me when I did this. Pi5 setup suddenly appeared. I connected the dongle at this point, and believe another power cycle happened. Everything worked after I did this. Unsure if it will replicate but something to try.
I’ve also popped you an email Dan, happy to take a closer look for you
The reset procedue mentioned by @Fuegox may also work for you, removing the dongle and seeing if PiFi 5 Setup appears then re-inserting (after 1-2 minutes it should then show PiFi 5)

Hi I have done that but it’s still the same I got the pi 5 8gb
Should work ok on PI5 8Gb (only one that’s not out for yet is the Pi 2Gb)
- What color is the LED on the Pi 5?
- If you connect to a monitor it’ll also show you if there’s some sort of issue with it booting
- If you have an SD card reader, you can re-flash the SD too by downloading the Pi 5 image with Raspberry pi imager
Oh, and also make sure you’re using a good enough plug (5v5a for Pi5)
Hi the light is green I haven’t got a card reader and I can’t put it on the screen to see is there ment to be a light on the dongle
No — the dongle would only light up when you are connected to it in WiFi Settings.
When PiFi on Pi 5 has booted correctly (it should show amber - green would only show for VPN being on) which is showing me it hasn’t booted
If you pop me a reply to my latest email with your order number and/or address I’ll send you a replacement SD card with 1st Class postage
