RTL8111H pcie ethernet adapter, cake-autorate and wan failover

Hi!

Thanks for creating this project. I was just getting my toes wet with OpenWrt and really missed a more user friendly ui and an app for simple day-to-day setup.

I’m building a router base on a Raspberry pi 5 and a RTL8111H pcie module. Is that driver included in the base system or is there a way to include “kmod-r8169”?

BTW my main aim for this router is to enable me to use CAKE-autorate over my 5g connection and setup a failover rule(mwan3). If you could in the long term enable a better ui for those things I would be in heaven.

Thanks!

There are a bunch of gigabit ethernet adapter drivers already installed - not sure if one of the pre-installed drivers will work with that pcie model

But even if not, you can install it easily - if using app just go to App > Settings > More Settings > LuCI > System > Software > Update Lists > then search kmod-r8169 . You can also do it via browser by going to 192.168.3.14 when connected to PiFi.

P.S do have a lot of plans for features like you describe so hopefully you’ll be happy with those

Thank you for your reply. I will give it a try as soon as my Pi 5 arrives from China.
