Hi,
I’m curious to know if the USB AC1300 Mbps Adaptor will help to speed up the PiFi connection?
I know it can make the RPi portable and this is useful but mainly I would be using it for working from home ( RPi conn ected by Ethernet cable to home router )
So I’m wondering does it improve speeds ?
Does it improve stability ( less dropped connections to PiFi network )?
Secondly, as I’m not in US or UK I’m not able to order the official PiFi USB AC1300Mbps adaptor.
Can you advise which is the best ( most compatible ) alternative model I can order? I am based in Europe so would buy from Amazon or a tech shop like Mediamarkt for e.g
There seems to be tonnes of these types of adaptors and just would like to know I’m buying the right ( most compatible ) one for PiFi.
Recently we got a new WiFi 6 router ( Mitrastar GPT2742GX4X5v6 ).
Also, we are on a 600Mbps package from the ISP.
Would upgrading to the 1Gbps line be anything that would improve stability when connected to PiFi network ? I assume it would improve speeds. Any idea by how much ?
The current speed is basically sufficient for working but it does go through peaks and valleys and also has been disconnecting a bit too much recently ( seemingly more so since the router was replaced )
Ideally, I’d like to improve stability while also getting a bit more speed ( which I know maybe is not possible )
We’ve noticed that when both me and partner are working from home and FireTV was in use then there was latency ( hence the change/Upgrade of router provided by the ISP )
Or even when just my partner was working and FireTV was on then she had latency which prevented her from logging in to her work VPN.
Many thanks for your feedback ![]()
