Ok so I have a couple of raspberry pi - two model 4 and one model 5 and not really using them
And I would like a vpn router to connect to meta quest - because I can unlock more regional content.
Would it work for that and would it be fast enough for that do you think?
Yes it would work as you can connect Quest to PiFi as the WiFi network (some people I’ve read even do USB-to-ethernet adaptor for fully wired but that would be too much cable for my taste)
So even if it lacks VPN client support (Surfshark Etc) you can absolutely have Wireguard running on PiFi, then your Quest running via whatever country
Speed-wise - Pi 4 isn’t the fastest over Wireless (but that’s why we have PiFi Kit which is much much faster - up to 8x as fast) and Pi 5 also benefits from PiFi Kit but has a more solid starting speed
So if Pi 4 (I’d only recommend with PiFi Kit for performance), with Pi 5 you could try without the kit but it would be a valuable add but not necessarily essential
